Through our time teaching gastronomy, we have met countless people not only from Kochi but also from so many walks of life and places around the world. Meeting new people is always so exciting to us. Interacting with people of different cultures, religions, and worldviews makes us realize again and again that there are so many things we have yet to discover.
One of the most enduring lessons we\u2019ve learned so far is that while language is important, genuine communication is absolutely vital.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Thanks to all those we\u2019ve met thus far, we were able to realize:
There are people whose thoughts and ideas are totally different from ours
The absurdity of comparing ourselves to others
The inestimable worth of uniqueness and individuality
And best of all, that food crosses borders<\/p>\n\n\n\n


These fortuitous encounters helped spark an open-minded and optimistic outlook for us.
We truly appreciate all of the \u7e01 that we\u2019ve had the good fortune to cultivate.
We feel that it is our duty to perpetuate the chain and lend a helping hand to foster others \u2019\u7e01 via gastronomy and cooking together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why we\u2019re resolved to continue breaking new ground as \u7e01 (en).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We truly love making omusubi (rice balls) with friends and family. By shaping rice balls together, we can chat freely and enjoy a communal activity.
Everyone has a different technique, and no omusubi comes out the same. Each and every one is unique!
That uniqueness is important and something we want tocherish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


We say \u201c\u3054\u98ef\u3092\u3080\u3059\u3076 gohan wo musubu\u201d when shaping rice balls. \u201c\u7d50\u3076 musubu\u201d means to hold something, and to make a connection with someone means “\u7e01\u3092\u7d50\u3076 en wo musubu\u201d. We believe that taking pleasure in a simple thing like making rice balls together produces new connections between individuals, and that is why we chose \u7e01 (en) as our new name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


We want to be a special \u201cthird place\u201d for many people so that they can find and make new connections (\u7e01) with one another, just like the uniqueness of each omusubi.
